Yellow is too easy, red and blue pretty easy. Black I had to try actually worth its salt. I can break read and blue together but not red, blue and yellow.

In my experience working with wood, red oak is prone to splitting. Over time, the grain degrades with repeated impact. White oak has a better reputation, but if you're going to be beating on it, hickory is a lot stronger. For sparring, HEMA armor allows full contact combat with foam weapons.

If anyone is considering the difference between French and Chinese Feiyue and which to buy here's my experience: The Chinese Feiyue are out-of-the-box much more flexible and have a thinner sole/padding. If you're hardcore set on martial art and parkour training, and you want to support the company with the more 'authentic' heritage, the Chinese ones are for you. The French versions are out of the box more rigid and have a more noticeable foam insole (which can be removed). This cushioning and support make them much better for walking and regular gym lifting. THAT SAID, once you break them in, you notice they will get very thin and very flexible. I have been wearing my pair of French Feiyue ROUGH at the gym for 6 days a week for over a year, and now I could fold them in half twice over without any effort and feel every pebble under my step. The origin of the French brand is mired in either misunderstanding or malice. But remember, the French shoes (just like most American owned shoes) are made in and exported from China anyways. It wouldn't even shock me if they came from the same factories . Summary: Chinese = better out the box for Martial Arts, more authentic, harder to source French = better out the box for gym or streetwear, not the OGs, but easier to source abroad.

These things are always very useful for self defense against drunk one armed NPCs in the world. Would definitely recommend that everyone should carry one of those if they never encountered a self defense situation and never will. The guys that actually wanna have a bit of legal self defense weapons can buy a tactical pen and that would be even multi purpose
